DWAYNE LAWSON BOISSONEAU, 37, appeared by video from Thunder Bay Correctional Center today, Monday, October 25, 2021, before His Honor Judge Frank Valente to plead guilty to several crimes
On December 25, 2019, BOISSONEAU broke into the Copperfin credit union located on Algoma Street South and attempted to steal an iPad. He couldn’t remove it from the holder and left the bank. The alarm went off. The entire incident was filmed. An arrest warrant has been issued against him. SPTB media relations coordinator Scott Paradis has never spoken to the public about the crime, the warrant or the arrest. BOISSONEAU is guilty of breaking and entering.
On January 7, 2020, BOISSONEAU stole a cell phone from a man and pawned it at Big Ed’s pawnshop for $ 110. Another arrest warrant has been issued against him. But SPTB’s media relations coordinator Scott Paradis never told the public again. BOISSONEAU is guilty of possession of stolen goods
On May 28, 2020, BOISSONEAU was arrested by hard-working Thunder Bay police and released shortly thereafter by the courts.
On June 7, 2020, BOISSONEAU stole a $ 300 security camera from a house 100 block from Court Street South. He is guilty of theft.
Provincial Crown Attorney Piera Pasloski and Defense Counsel Micheal Hargadon have submitted a joint proposal to His Honor.
BOISSONEAU is a member of the Long Lake Reserve Band 58. His mother drank a lot of alcohol when she was pregnant with him and he suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. When BOISSONEAU was a young child, his father pushed him down a staircase while he was in a stroller. He suffered several skull fractures. He receives a monthly disability check and suffers from an opioid addiction. He commits a crime to feed addiction. His criminal record begins on May 5, 1999 and spans 20 years. He has at least 5 break-ins on his record before that. He has already been found guilty of making threats and wanting to join ISIS
BOISSONEAU has been in police custody for 70 actual days. Joint submission is to use 40 of those days and increase it to 60 days. A 12-month suspended sentence with probation is also pronounced.
We ask BOISSONEAU if he has something to say and he replies “I would like to apologize for what I did.” I’m on methadone again and enrolled in school ”
Judge Valente finds joint submission extremely weak, but ultimately accepts it
BOISSONEAU will remain in detention because he has an outstanding charge of break and enter, as well as theft and impersonation of an SPTB agent. SPTB’s media relations coordinator Scott Paradis never spoke to the public about it either.
His next court appearance is December 2, 2021
