Sunrise Credit Union donates to Ukrainian aid – DiscoverWestman.com

Another western Manitoba credit union donated to help Ukrainians.

Sunrise Credit Union officials say Ukraine needs our support. Russia’s military operation has sparked an international outcry, and many countries around the world are responding with support for the Ukrainian people.

More than one million Canadians identify as Ukrainian, including almost 200,000 Manitobans, and these events have a direct impact on many more. Sunrise Credit Union is responding to the rapidly escalating crisis in Ukraine by donating $50,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal Fund, established by the Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF) and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) ).

“Sunrise has a heritage of supporting communities in times of need and stepping in to help those who suffer around the world in times of crisis. We support the Ukrainian people and the large and vibrant Ukrainian community in Manitoba. The war in Ukraine has had a profound impact on all of us. Many of our valued employees and members come from this vibrant community. said Sunrise Chairman and CEO Tim Klassen,

“We are helping to provide financial aid, relief and recovery, and hope for a quick end to this conflict. We are committed to improving their lives and those of all who have been affected. »

Sunrise Credit Union is accepting donations on behalf of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation to support millions of Ukrainian families displaced from their homes.

“In my time with Credit Union and over 30 years, this is the first time there has been anything like this and I personally hope we never have to do anything like this again.”

The public is invited to visit any Sunrise Credit Union branch to donate. Donations to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal can also be made online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/70605.
