Navy Federal Ranks Highest Ever on Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT List: NorthEscambia.com
The Navy Federal Credit Union ranks 7th among large organizations on IDG’s Insider Pro and Computerworld 2021 Best Places to Work in IT list. Remaining the only credit union on the list, this year marks Navy Federal’s highest ever ranking in the Top 10 and the seventh consecutive year to be recognized.
âConsidering what our team members have been through over the past year, this makes our ranking very special,â said Tony Gallardy, chief information officer for Navy Federal. âWhen we had to move the majority of our workforce to work from home, our Information Services Department (ISD) and each of our business lines came together to make sure every team member had the technology he needed to do his job safely and continue to provide exceptional service to our members.
In the pre-pandemic period, Navy Federal’s workforce of more than 20,000 team members served military personnel and their families through the 24/7 credit union operational campuses and network of over 346 branches around the world. When COVID-19 hit, the credit union‘s focus on serving members remained the same, but the original base of team members changed. In just two weeks, the ISD team shifted most of its workforce to telecommuting. All of this happened as the credit union was also at the heart of a five-year transformation strategy focused on evolving member-centered and employee-centered principles, while remaining scalable and flexible with the technology.
âWe have seen such progress in our digital transformation this year,â said Gallardy. âThe pandemic has put pressure on all of us, but our team’s efforts have been so nimble and flexible through many unexpected challenges along the way – their adaptability is what always got the job done. “
